ORBCOMM Extends Reach in Government Market

5/29/2014

Asset-tracking solutions impact many industries, from small businesses operating a fleet of 10 vehicles and some equipment to large-scale businesses involved in operations such as commercial transportation, vessel tracking, or homeland security. No matter what the size or scope of a business or organization, M2M solutions providing realtime GPS data for tracking and monitoring remote and fixed assets can add tremendous value.

M2M solution provider ORBCOMM, www.orbcomm.com, works with companies to achieve value through increased visibility and efficiency for numerous markets via its tracking, monitoring, and control services. The company says it will now make its portfolio of M2M solutions available to government customers under Corp Ten Intl.’s, www.corpten.com, GSA (General Services Admin.) schedule.

Corp Ten designs, produces, and delivers tracking and information systems, and maintains its own GSA schedule for government clients. The company says this arrangement allows government clients to streamline the procurement process because they can buy commercial goods and services using pre-negotiated terms and pricing.

ORBCOMM says as part of Corp Ten’s schedule, will be able to more efficiently market its M2M products and solutions to federal, state, and local government agencies. By having its portfolio on a GSA schedule, ORBCOMM’s CEO Marc Eisenberg also says the company will be able to extend its reach within the government market.

With M2M, government customers can maximize business processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance asset visibility. In turn, the investment could return dividends, keeping assets secure and increasing the bottomline.
