RACO Wireless Acquires Position Logic

RACO Wireless, www.racowireless.com, announced this morning it has completed the acquisition of Position Logic, www.positionlogic.com.

A B2B (business-to-business) location-based service provider, Position Logic allows M2M service companies to give enterprise clients a way to track and manage assets via a secure, scalable wireless platform. The company can integrate any signaling device into its software for realtime monitoring.

John Horn, president of RACO Wireless, an M2M data solutions provider, says the acquisition makes perfect sense, as both companies share a desire for bringing ease and simplicity to clients, and neither make a point of competing with partnering companies.

“What we are to the wireless world, Position Logic is to the positioning world,” Horn says. “They’re easy to do business with … They have come up with a phenomenal way for people to use the application layer to develop and enhance products. They have gone to market with the same strategy. They have solution partners, and they don’t compete against their solution partners … We’re the same way.”

Position Wireless will continue to offer its products globally, with added tools provided by RACO. Horn says the integration process is already well under way, adding that no layoffs or liquidations will take place, and Position will maintain its two office locations in Florida and the Dominican Republic.

For RACO, the acquisition of Position Logic is serendipitous to an extent. Horn says RACO has a total of 700 solution partners, while Position has 400, and they only have five in common. Horn noted 85% of Position’s customers are in Latin America, and RACO has Spanish-speaking employees who will be able to assist customers in their native language.

Felix Lluberes, president and CEO of Position Logic, says when the company was started, it strived to “make it as simple as possible for businesses to locate and track their assts. We have come a long way, and in joining RACO Wireless, we now have the scale to go much further through the integration of technology, expertise and resources.”
