Wyless Expands with M2M
10/9/2012
Wireless connectivity is vital to many M2M (machine-to-machine) solutions, and Wyless, an M2M managed services provider, announced new developments in its offerings at CTIA’s MobileCON this week in San Diego.
Wyless, www.wyless.com, announced its inclusion on the Deutsche Telekom M2M Partner Portal, which is a service designed to provide M2M companies worldwide a central point of contact for networking. Members of the portal can access information and materials related to M2M projects and deployment.
Wyless has an existing relationship with Deutsche Telekom, www.telekom.com, as a partner for the Deutsche Telekom M2M Competence Center. The Center focuses on cross-border, European, and transatlantic M2M solutions. Wyless says it has also worked with Deutsche Telekom through its partnership with T-Mobile, both in Europe and in the U.S.
Dan McDuffie, CEO of Wyless, says, “We are constantly expanding and strengthening our joint activities in order to address the growing need for multi-MNO connectivity on both sides of the Atlantic and beyond.”
Deutsche Telekom is the parent company of T-Mobile USA, www.t-mobile.com, which recently announced its intent to merge with MetroPCS, www.metropcs.com. T-Mobile said the merger would allow the new company to use its “stronger network to advance its B2B offerings and MVNO platform.”
At MobileCON, Wyless also announced a distribution agreement with Encore Networks, www.encorenetworks.com, a provider of products for fixed and wireless M2M communications. Wyless will offer Encore’s family of routers for a range of cellular M2M applications.
Products include the C2C (Copper-to-Cellular) broadband wireless router, which supports both dial-up and Ethernet for M2M. Additionally, Encore’s BANDIT routers offer features for voice and data transmission over wired and wireless networks.
Wyless is broadening its footprint in M2M, both abroad and in the U.S., and it will be interesting to see where the new partnerships lead.
